Nov 4, 2025 (Renewable Energy Magazine) – U-Ming Marine Offshore (UMO), a subsidiary of the Far Eastern Group (FEG), and Purus, a Singapore headquartered global leader in offshore energy maritime services, have announced the formation of UPO Holdings Co., Ltd. (UPO), a joint venture aimed at expanding offshore wind operations in Taiwan and the region.
The partnership will be unveiled at Wind Energy Taiwan 2026 (scheduled to be held at March 25 to 27, 2026, at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre, Cianjhen District, Kaohsiung).
UPO is commissioning two state-of-the-art VARD 419 Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs), each 88 metres long and designed explicitly for Taiwan’s unique and challenging operating conditions, aiming to advance offshore wind service capability and safety.
